MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade police confirmed the identity of a person of interest in the death of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found on an Interstate 95 ramp over the weekend.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Florida Highway Patrol troopers found Nahomi Cittadini dead on a ramp near Ives Dairy Road after responding to reports of two people arguing at around 6 a.m. Saturday.
An MDPD spokesperson confirmed that Lorent Pion is a person of interest in the case. He’s being held in Broward County after an arrest by Miramar police on unrelated charges of failing to stop or at the scene of an accident and aggravated fleeing.
Pion, a 29-year-old convicted felon, has not been charged in connection with Cittadini’s death.
In his most recent case out of Miami Beach, police said an officer spotted him and a female victim he described as his girlfriend in an altercation on Aug. 8.
An arrest report stated that the the victim’s hair appeared to be disheveled and that Pion sweating profusely and bleeding from the knuckles.
A witness provided police with cell phone video of him slapping her, pulling her to the ground by her hair, and punching her, authorities said, leading to his arrest on misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest charges.
It’s not clear whether Cittadini was the victim in that case.
MDPD “is working closely with the Miami-Dade State Attorney” in the investigation, the spokesperson said.
