According to police, undercover officers were dispatched to Factory Torn in Hialeah in response to reports of what they called “fraudulent activity surrounding the event, specifically focusing on individuals engaged in the manufacture, distribution and sale of counterfeit wristbands intended to provide unauthorized access to restricted areas of the venue.”

After finding a woman inside the venue with a fake wristband, police said she provided officers with a specific description of the man and his friend who sold it to her for $175 outside.

Officers said they were able to locate the men, later identified as 57-year-old Mark Owens, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and 56-year-old Darien Brown.

According to an arrest report, police found 44 counterfeit wristbands in Brown’s pocket and 22 fake wristbands in Owens’ pocket.

Both are now facing felony charges. Owens was given a $2,500 bond, but bond information was not listed for Brown on the jail online database.
