Davie kicks off annual holiday toy drive

DAVIE, Fla. – The town of Davie is collecting new, unwrapped toys for its annual holiday toy drive until Dec. 19.

The drive aims to bring holiday cheer to more than 300 local children in need.

Event organizers say donations should be in their original packaging and suitable for children ages 0-12 and teenagers ages 13-18.

Suggested items include dolls of all ethnicities, action figures, Legos, jewelry-making kits, science and discovery kits, sports equipment, board games, fidget toys, remote control cars, and headphones. Only new, unwrapped toys will be accepted; used or lightly used items cannot be donated, said Davie officials in a news release Tuesday.

Drop-off Locations and Hours

According to city officials, residents can bring donations to the following locations:

  • Monday – Thursday Town Clerk’s Office (Building C): 8800 SW 36th Street | 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Pine Island Multipurpose Center: 3801 S. Pine Island Road | 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center: 3800 SW 92nd Ave. | 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Davie Police Department lobby: 1230 South Nob Hill Road | 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Davie Fire Rescue main lobby: 6901 Orange Drive | 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center: 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pine Island Multipurpose Center: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday – Sunday Pine Island Fitness and Aquatic Center: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pine Island Multipurpose Center: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Town will distribute toys in collaboration with local youth groups and clubs.
