Several business owners and education technology leaders gathered at the Idea Center at Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in downtown Miami to celebrate the launch of the “Strive 305 Hub.”
The platform, a partnership between Miami-Dade County and Wells Fargo, is described as an all-in-one resource for small business owners, offering access to training modules, event promotion, and networking opportunities.
“Here you have numerous small businesses (gaining) economic background to grow our local business ecosystem,” said Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava during the event. “I wanted small businesses to be able to get access to resources.”
Levine Cava emphasized the importance of small businesses, calling them the “backbone” of the community and highlighting her decade-long vision of creating a centralized hub for local entrepreneurs.
“We want Strive 305 to be a household name,” she said. “We are building a more connected community that is ‘future ready.’”
Jason Rosenberg, Wells Fargo’s head of public affairs, echoed those sentiments.
“We are thrilled to be focusing on our support for small businesses,” he said. “It is critical that there is that one-stop for small businesses … how do you scale, how do you work on capacity building, on finding funding?”
Rosenberg called the partnership a “dream for a community,” emphasizing the role of small businesses in fueling Miami-Dade’s economic growth.
Sara Agudelo, owner of Purple Orchid, a local business that has expanded to seven locations since its 2015 launch, shared her experience.
“When I learned about the open-for-business initiative, it started a dream,” she said. “You have to work hard because there are all these resources, but if you work hard…it can happen.”
The hub also provides small businesses with access to funding and loan opportunities. For more information, visit the Strive 305 Hub by clicking here.
