Melbourne college student arrested in Miami-Dade over images of sex abuse involving children, animals, records show

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old man facing charges related to images of sex abuse involving children and animals wore a green anti-suicide smock to court on Saturday in Miami-Dade County.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Jason Emilios Dimitris presided over the bond court hearing. Dariel Baques identified himself as a student at Florida Institute of Technology, a private research university in Melbourne.

Miami-Dade County inmate records show correctional officers booked Baques at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Baques faced 12 charges: Six counts of possession of images of sexual performance by a child and six counts of cause/aid/another/sex conduct with animals.

Dimitris, who usually works at the MDC Children’s Courthouse, set his bond at $3,000 for two charges and released him on his recognizance for the other 10 charges.
