TSA officers on Thanksgiving Day travel rush: Turkey and stuffing allowed at checkpoints

Transportation Security Administration officers felt Thursday’s Thanksgiving Day travel rush in South Florida and reported that travelers are allowed to bring turkey, up to 3.4-ounces of gravy, and stuffing through checkpoints.

Traffic was high at Miami International Airport in Miami-Dade County and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Broward County.

According to FlightAware, flight delays were well below average, but that could change on Sunday, the highest traffic day.

According to transportation analytics company INRIX, car travel was going smoothly and the smoother times for the return drives were before 1 p.m. on Sunday, and before 8 a.m. or after 7 p.m. on Monday.
