It happened just before 7: 30 p.m. near the intersection of Stirling Road and Southwest 37th Avenue.
Authorities said Lea Suissa, 35, was driving a 2018 green Nissan Altima westbound on Stirling Road when a bicyclist attempted to cross the road southbound at Southwest 37th Avenue.
Detectives confirmed the bicyclist entered the westbound lanes and was struck by the Nissan. The impact caused the Nissan to stop immediately, but it was then rear-ended by a 2008 black Toyota Corolla driven by 79-year-old David Keiser, deputies said.
Hollywood Fire Rescue transported the bicyclist to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to BSO.
BSO has not released his age or identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators have ruled out excessive speed and impairment on the part of Suissa as contributing factors.
The crash remains under investigation.
