Miami-Dade police said Jessica Marie Fuller, 37, attacked her mother, who she lives with, following an argument that escalated into violence.

The incident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. Friday at a home near the intersection of Southwest 57th Avenue and Southwest 72nd Street in the unincorporated High Pines area near Coral Gables and South Miami.

Police said Fuller struck the victim in the face and the back of the head with closed fists, laughing and stating, “I think I broke your nose.”

The victim, who was bleeding heavily from her nose and suffering scratches and redness on her face from the attack, managed to call 911 for help, according to Fuller’s arrest report.

Authorities said officers from the MDPD’s Kendall District and the South Miami Police Department responded to the scene.

When officers attempted to detain Fuller, police said she resisted arrest by kicking an SMPD officer.

They also said Fuller was eventually restrained, but while being transferred to MDPD officers, she reportedly pulled away and kicked another officer in the shin. Both were in full uniforms clearly identifying them as law enforcement when the incident occurred, the report stated.

“Neither officer sustained visible injuries,” police wrote.

Fuller, who police described as “uncooperative and verbally hostile” during the arrest process, was transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where her bond was listed as “to be set.”

Jail records show she is facing one count each of battery on a person 65 or older, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer with violence.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
