Local 10ā€²s Nicole Perez hosted the event and spoke to many who took part.

ā€œWe have a medical acute center. We run that just like an ICU. We do respite services to give the family a break,ā€ said David Perez, Director if Development, Broward Childrenā€™s Center.

ā€œThereā€™s a lot of support there with the team. Whenever I have a bad day, I call and they know what Iā€™m going through,ā€ said Francesca Canonica, a mother.

The programs at the Broward Childrenā€™s Center serve close to 1,000 children and their families. According to the organizationā€™s website, proceeds will support Broward Childrenā€™s Centerā€™s crucial programs and medical, developmental, and therapeutic services designed to meet the specific needs of infants, children and young adults who are developmentally disabled and medically fragile and their families.
