The Pineda family came home on Saturday to find their holiday house was sitting in the dark as someone had stolen their light projector.

According to the family, a dark SUV apparently stopped to admire their neighbors’ Christmas lights first, but after a car drove right past them, they quickly moved down the road to the Pineda’s house, which is located in Hialeah near East 25th Street and Fourth Avenue.

What’s worse, they said, was the reaction from their little one.

They put in the holiday hustle to get the home ready early for their kids and the neighborhood.

It’s a tradition every year.

The Pineda family said they’ve now added more stakes into the ground and their strategy is to make it as hard as possible for the next guy.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
