Reward offered for information about fatal hit-and-run crash in southwest Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities are searching for a truck driver who they said struck and killed a farm worker in southwest Miami-Dade earlier this week.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m. Monday morning along Southwest 194th Avenue and 208th Street.

The scene is near Costa Farms Color Division, where the victim, identified as 46-year-old Alexis Muñoz, worked, according to authorities.

Police said Muniz was riding a scooter when he was struck by a driver of a 2022 silver Ford F-250 traveling south. The truck was towing an orange front loader Kubota and a black trailer at the time of the incident, authorities confirmed.

Investigators said the driver then exited the Ford F-250 and entered a red pickup truck without rendering aid and/ or reporting the crash.

Anyone with information about where to find the driver is asked to call Miami-Dade police at 305-471-2425.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers is also offering an award of up to $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest or arrests. Tipsters can also remain anonymous.
