MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade County family is desperate to find their beloved dog after someone was caught on camera snatching it from the end of their driveway.
It happened back on Oct. 30 along South River Drive, near Northwest 151st Street, in the Golden Glades area.
John Rogan said he bought the dog for his family for $5,000 last year.
The dog, a micro bully, was on the driveway but outside of Rogan’s open gate while he brought groceries into the home.
“He was outside the gate for 22 seconds,” Rogan said.
In home surveillance video, the dog is seen at the end of the driveway when a car pulls up.
After a moment, the front passenger door of the dark-colored sedan opened and the dog was snatched up.
“Devastated isn’t the word,” said Rogan, whose 3-year-old special needs child has been heartbroken without the dog. “My girlfriend was in the hospital for four days after this. She couldn’t eat, she had anxiety, she was vomiting. It’s been a nightmare. Every day my son asks me where the dog is. Every day I have to tell him he’s at the doctor.”
Rogan has been putting up signs all over the area, offering a $1,000 reward for the beloved pup.
“The guy took the dog from my driveway,” he said. “If he wanted to reunite us with the dog he would’ve done it.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
