Man dies after being pulled from Oakland Park pool

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A man has died after being pulled from a pool at an apartment complex in Oakland Park early Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not disclosed his age or identity at this time.

According to investigators, Broward sheriff’s deputies and Oakland Park Fire Rescue crews responded to a call about a possible drowning near the 3000 block of Northeast Sixth Avenue just after 5:30 a.m.

BSO said medics found an unresponsive man who they said had been pulled from the pool by a bystander. The bystander administered CPR until rescue teams arrived, authorities confirmed.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital, where deputies said he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators confirmed there is no suspicion of foul play at this time.

Authorities said the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death. The circumstances as to how the man ended up in the pool remain under investigation.
