Plantation police search for man who has been missing for a week

PLANTATION, Fla. – Plantation police asked for the public’s help Wednesday in locating a man who they said was reported missing and endangered.

Authorities said 65-year-old Leon Dunne was last seen on Oct. 30 at approximately 9 a.m. at the Substance Abuse Treatment Center located at 1030 S. St. Rd. 7 in Plantation.

According to investigators, Dunne voluntarily left the facility on foot that same day and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Police said Dunne is considered endangered due to a possible altered mental status and the absence of his prescribed medications.

Dunne is 6 feet tall, weighs around 135 pounds, has brown eyes and grey hair. Detectives say at the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue jeans, a blue long-sleeve shirt, a multi-colored vest, black sneakers, and a white ball cap.

Plantation police asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to call them at 954-445-2942.
