Man faces 10 charges after confessing to mail thefts in Coral Gables

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A 28-year-old man confessed to stealing checks from business mailboxes in Coral Gables to commit fraud, according to Sgt. Michelle Christensen, of the Coral Gables Police Department.

Records showed Marcos Antonio Nuviola-Rodriguez, first arrested on Oct. 18, had four cases pending Wednesday in Miami-Dade County court. In all, Nuviola-Rodriguez was facing 10 charges.

Prosecutors filed the first case on Oct. 19 for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, a third-degree felony; and petit theft, a misdemeanor.

Prosecutors also filed cases on Oct. 22 for criminal mischief and two counts of petit theft; on Oct. 23 for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance, criminal mischief, and petit theft; and on Oct. 24 for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance and petit theft.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judges Carlos Humberto Gamez and Marcus Richard Bach Armas were presiding over the cases.
