FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – With a ceremonial ribbon cutting, the 65th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is officially underway.
On Wednesday, city officials held a press conference to kick off the five-day event, expected to draw hundreds of thousands of attendees.
Sky 10 flew over the newly renovated Pier Sixty-Six, showcasing the luxurious vessels on display and the 7.7 miles of dock space available for visitors to fully experience the show.
“We’ve got 1,000 boats in the water and 150 of those are over 100 feet,” said an event organizer.
Promoted as the largest in-water boat show globally, the event overlooks Fort Lauderdale’s marina and brings visitors from around the world.
It’s also set to provide a significant economic boost to the local economy, especially for the hospitality and tourism sectors.
“When you come to Fort Lauderdale, you leave with an experience unlike any other,” said Mayor Dean Trantalis.
The event runs from Wednesday until Sunday. Click here for more information.
