Miramar police officers search for silver Dodge truck after a report of a shooter

Police set up temporary command post at Arcadia Drive and Miramar Parkway

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Police officers responded to a report of a shooter with a long rifle and were searching for a silver Dodge truck on Friday in Miramar.

Police officers used marked patrol cars to close the westbound lanes of Miramar Parkway, west of the Florida Turnpike.

The Miramar Police Department also set up a temporary command post at Arcadia Drive and Miramar Parkway.

According to police scanner traffic, which has yet to be confirmed by a police department spokesperson, police officers referred to the suspect as an “active shooter” and requested backup.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
