According to police, Gentillon and Jean would target people who were inebriated.

“The suspects, masquerading as rideshare drivers, targeted unsuspecting victims and perpetrated multiple robberies – occasionally employing a firearm to carry out the offenses,” the police department said in a news release.

Police said the robberies were investigated by MBPD’s Robbery Unit and detectives were able to identify Gentillon and Jean as the perpetrators.

“We regard incidents of this nature with utmost seriousness and are committed to diligently pursuing accountability for those responsible,” Police Chief Wayne Jones said in a statement. “Our primary focus is to ensure the safety of Miami Beach.”
