MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – All northbound lanes on Interstate 95 near Northwest 119th Street in Miami-Dade County were shut down Friday morning following a fatal crash, authorities confirmed.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, a blue Dodge SUV was heading north on the highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete barrier wall.
“As a result, the Dodge became disabled and came to rest blocking the roadway,” Camacho said in an email to Local 10 News. “An oncoming black Honda sedan collided into the Dodge and several occupants that were standing on the roadway.”
Camacho said a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
