According to Broward County Public Schools, these changes ensure that students receive state-required instructional time during the first semester. The changes are as follows:
- Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, is a regular school day for students.
- The first semester will end on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025.
- Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, is a staff planning day and a day off for students.
Schools are closed the week of Nov. 25, unless a weather event causes schools to close before then. To address potential weather-related closures for the remainder of the 2024/25 school year, the district has also identified three severe weather make-up days, if needed. Those dates are Nov. 25 and 26, 2024 and March 31, 2025.
