US Coast Guard searches for passenger who fell overboard on cruise ship

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The US Coast guard is searching for a missing Royal Caribbean cruise ship passenger.

The USCG confirmed that the 66-year-old woman went overboard on Tuesday night from the Allure of the Seas, about 20 miles north of Nassau, Bahamas.

The Taylor Swift themed cruise left Miami on Monday for the Bahamas.

An airplane and helicopter crew from Air Station Miami was called to assist the Royal Bahamas defense force in the search for the missing woman.

Royal Caribbean released the following statement about the passenger:

“Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort and is working with local authorities. We are also providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”
