Man impersonates security guard to get into Taylor Swift concert, police say

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A man identified by police as an Uber driver is accused of getting into Friday’s Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert at Hard Rock Stadium by pretending to be a security guard.

Authorities arrested Ivan Mariotti, 44, of Key Biscayne, on charges of falsely impersonating an officer and interference with a sporting or entertainment event.

According to an arrest report, actual security officers notified Miami-Dade police at around 8:30 p.m. that there was a man, later identified as Mariotti, “dressed in a suit wearing a badge over his neck, near the floor/field area of the venue.”

Authorities found Mariotti a few minutes later, they said, and took him to the tunnel area of the stadium to question him.

The arrest report states that Mariotti told the officer “that he was hired by four women to work as a security guard and he escorted said women onto (the) property and to their respective seats.”

Mariotti said he did not have a ticket to the event and got in the concert because he was a security guard, according to police.

Authorities said Mariotti claimed to work for Saint Security and provided an ID. Police said they asked him to point out his clients.

Police said they spoke to two women who told them their aunt had hired a driver for the evening.

One of women told police that she “did not know why her driver had a badge, as her aunt confirmed that she hired a driver and not a private security guard,” the report states.

Police said as they took Mariotti to his vehicle after he was kicked out of the stadium, he claimed to work for “multiple companies.”

Authorities took him into custody.

Mariotti, an Italian national, remained in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday afternoon on a $1,500 bond and an immigration hold.
