FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Fort Lauderdale police are searching for the person who fatally shot a man early Monday morning.
According to Detective Ali Adamson, the shooting was reported at 1:38 a.m. in the 1800 block of State Road 84.
Adamson said officers arrived at the scene and found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sky 10 was above the parking lot of a Motel 6 as firefighters doused the ground with water to clean up the blood.
Adamson confirmed that the shooter fled the area before officers arrived, and no arrests have been made.
A man who lives at the motel told Local 10′s Joseph Ojo that he didn’t know the victim, but just wants peace in the neighborhood.
“I just want people to love each other -- love -- it’s about peace and love,” he said. “And it’s always sad when someone dies.”
