Surveillance video shows mother grazed outside Family Dollar while holding baby

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – Authorities have released surveillance video showing a mother being grazed by a bullet as an innocent bystander while holding her baby inside of a car in North Miami.

Police said Anna Ixchell Williams, 35, opened fire on the vehicle Oct. 6 after getting into a dispute with another woman inside of a Family Dollar on Northeast 135th Street. The woman she ended up shooting was her neighbor, they said.

Video shows Williams walking inside the store. The driver then gets out. Police say the two are acquaintances and argued inside the store.

They are in the store for about three and a half minutes before the driver and Williams walk out. Williams is seen following her to the car.

There’s another exchange of words before the driver gets back in the car and reverses. Police said Williams pulled a gun out of her purse and fired a single shot. She then walks towards the car, and there’s another exchange before she leaves. The driver records Williams.

“You just shot her in the head for what?” the driver is heard saying on the recording.

The victim then goes into the store for help. She eventually gets out and can be seen holding her head.

She spoke to Local 10 News five days after the shooting.

Williams, facing four felony charges, remained in jail as of Friday.
