MIAMI – Miami-Dade County detectives arrested a 27-year-old club promoter accused of sex crimes with a teenage girl he allegedly gave alcohol, marijuana, and tusi, a pink synthetic drug powder.

According to an arrest report, the 16-year-old victim told police she met Jose Restrepo Montoya at a party and they were inseparable for about two months — which meant she was skipping school.

According to the arrest report, Restrepo was born in Colombia; his home is in Norcross, Georgia; and he was staying at the Icon in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood.

The teen also reported Restrepo asked her to wear makeup to appear older when they went to nightclubs, which contradicts his claim that he didn’t know the victim was a minor.

Detectives arrested Romero after questioning him in Spanish and he surrendered a gun, according to the arrest report. Inmate records show correctional officers booked him on Tuesday at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where he remained Wednesday afternoon.

Romero was facing charges of unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor, custody interference, traveling to meet a minor to engage in sexual intercourse after using a computer to solicit the child, and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a child.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
