Police investigating after body found floating in Pembroke Pines canal

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A body was found floating in a Pembroke Pines canal on Tuesday, authorities confirmed.

According to Pembroke Pines police, the body was discovered in the water just before noon near US-27 and Pines Boulevard.

Police said it is unclear at this time whether the incident is related to a crime, a medical emergency, or an accident, but they confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 1 p.m., where there was a heavy police presence in the area.

No other details were immediately released about the victim but a dive team has pulled the body out of the canal.
