Police investigating after body found floating in Pembroke Pines canal

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A body was found floating in a Pembroke Pines canal on Tuesday, authorities confirmed.

According to Pembroke Pines police, the body was discovered in the water just before noon near US-27 and Pines Boulevard.

Police said, “It appears likely the matter could be classified as a traffic crash.”

Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 1 p.m., capturing a heavy police presence in the area as both a body and an SUV were pulled from the water. The SUV was later loaded onto a tow truck around 4:15 p.m.

No other details were immediately released about the victim or the crash.
