MIAMI – A former member of the U.S. Air Force is facing three federal charges in South Florida federal court after authorities accused him of sexually assaulting another servicemember at an air base in the United Kingdom.

According to a U.S. Department of Justice news release, Loubeau sexually assaulted the victim at Royal Air Force Mildenhall on May 4, 2019. The base is located in Suffolk, England.
Prosecutors said Loubeau was discharged from the military in 2020.
Additional details concerning the allegations weren’t immediately available Tuesday afternoon.
Prosecutors said the charges were brought under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act, “which establishes U.S. jurisdiction over certain offenses committed abroad by, among others, persons who served with the armed forces but who are no longer subject to military prosecution.”
Loubeau faces a possible life sentence if convicted.
He had been listed in Broward County jail records on Tuesday morning, but was no longer as of Tuesday afternoon.
Loubeau had not been listed in a federal inmate database as of Tuesday afternoon.
