MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy was critically injured early Sunday night in a shooting in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities confirmed.
According to Miami-Dade police, the teen was shot, possibly multiple times, in the 1700 block of Southwest 104th Street.
Officers responded to the area around 6:50 p.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alert.
According to authorities, officers arrived at the scene and found the injured teen.
He was transported to Jackson South Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
On Monday morning, a dry blood stain was spotted in the driveway of a home in the area along with medical supplies. What appeared to be a bullet that hit a tree nearby could also be seen.
The family of the teenage boy told Local 10′s Joseph Ojo that he’s fighting for his life in the hospital after being shot in the upper body and jaw area.
Police confirmed that no suspects are in custody at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
