Police said Bautista was captured on video beating a woman who he shares two children with. He faces charges of child neglect and battery in connection with that case.
After his arrest, Homestead police discovered that Bautista was also wanted by Miami-Dade police in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Sept. 21 in the area of Southwest 112th Avenue and 197th Street.
In that case, police said the victim told them that she is an escort who “normally carries large amounts of cash.”
According to an arrest report, she said she is an acquaintance of Bautista and got into an argument with him inside her vehicle.
She said Bautista got upset and grabbed her bag from the center console, containing the money.
According to the report, a struggle ensued, at which time Bautista told her, “Do you really want to die for this money?”
Police said the victim was in fear for her life and let the bag go, at which time Bautista fled the area on foot.
Miami-Dade police went to Bautista’s last known address but were unable to find him until he was picked up by Homestead police.
He faces a charge of strong-arm robbery.
As of Monday afternoon, Bautista was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where his bond had yet to be set.
