HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Deputies identified a 24-year-old man Friday who they accused of stealing over $67,000 in electronics while working for UPS.
Detectives reported St. Gerard was hiding boxes with electronics in the UPS facility in Hollywood to later steal them when he was done with his shift.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, UPS reported their suspicions to deputies on Oct. 2. Detectives reported following St. Gerard, ordering him to stop on Oct. 3, and recovering dozens of iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max smartphones, Airpods, an iWatch, and other electronics.
According to detectives, St. Gerard later confessed to the crime.
“We have no tolerance for theft and have terminated this employee,” a spokesperson for UPS wrote in a statement Friday. “We continue to cooperate with authorities on their investigation.”
Florida records show Brandon St. Gerard registered Conglomerate Tech, Inc., a company based in Hollywood, in 2022. It’s unclear if the company registered to a commercial building in Hollywood had anything to do with his scheme. The investigation was ongoing on Friday.
St. Gerard is facing a charge of grand theft of over $20,000. Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
