NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – A woman survived being shot in the head while holding her baby inside of a car in a discount store parking lot in North Miami over the weekend, according to police. The accused gunwoman is now facing multiple felony charges.
Police said Anna Ixchell Williams, 35, opened fire on the vehicle Sunday morning after getting into a dispute with another woman inside of a Family Dollar. The woman she ended up shooting was her neighbor, they said.

According to an arrest report, the apparent intended target had gone inside the store, located at 280 NE 135th St., at around 11 a.m. to purchase a hair product.
Williams, who knows the woman, was already inside, police said. She accused her of “following her to harass her,” leading to a verbal argument, the report states.
Authorities said the victim left the store to “de-escalate the situation” and got inside of her vehicle. Another woman — Williams’ neighbor — was inside the Nissan Altima holding her baby, police said.
The report states that Williams followed the woman out of the store, reached inside of her purse and fired a round as her apparent intended target drove away.
That gunshot shattered the car window and hit the other woman in the left side of her head, police said. The bullet “entered and exited” the victim’s head, the report states; she was taken to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital to be treated for fragments lodged inside.
The shooting was captured on surveillance video.
Authorities said Williams walked home to her apartment, located nearby at 13780 NE Third Court, and officers took her into custody.
Police said Williams claimed that the woman she had gotten into the dispute with had been “making threats” inside the store.
However, the woman she shot, along with her baby, “were seated in the car the entire time” and never interacted with Williams, police said.
A Miami-Dade judge found probable cause to charge Williams with aggravated battery with a weapon causing bodily harm, shooting or throwing a deadly missile and two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm.
The judge ordered Williams be held without bond. She was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center as of Monday afternoon.
