Archdiocese of Miami Catholic schools in Miami-Dade, Broward to close Wednesday

Archdiocese of Miami Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim Rigg announced on Monday that all Archdiocese of Miami Catholic schools in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 due to Hurricane Milton.

The schools of the Archdiocese of Miami will cancel all meetings, sports, or other activities after 5:00 pm on Tuesday Oct. 8.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools announced school closures on Wednesday. Broward County Public Schools announced school closures on Wednesday and Thursday.

While South Florida wasn’t directly in the storm’s forecast track as of Wednesday, Milton is still expected to impact the area. Miami-Dade County was placed under a flood advisory.
