Woman found dead in street following apparent hit-and-run in Davie

DAVIE, Fla. – The body of a woman was found lying in a roadway in Davie Friday morning, and authorities believe she was the victim of a hit-and-run crash.

According to Davie police, the victim was found dead shortly after 6 a.m. in the 2500 block of South Flamingo Road.

Police said they had received reports about a person lying in the roadway. When officers arrived, they found the deceased victim, authorities said.

According to police, it appears that the woman was struck by a car, but detectives do not have any information about the suspect vehicle at this time.

All northbound lanes of Flamingo Road at the 2500 block are currently shut down due to the investigation and drivers are asked to seek an alternate route.

The victim’s identity is being withheld, pending next-of-kin notification.
