Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect Tuesday who they said tased her 87-year-old neighbor during a heated dispute over parking in Lauderdale Lakes.

Authorities said the altercation occurred around 2:40 p.m. when the victim parked her car near her apartment, located near the 3500 block of Northwest 49th Avenue, and attempted to use the elevators.

According to an arrest report, the victim told deputies that her neighbor, Kathryn Anne Collins, 54. blocked the entrance and began shouting at her about parking in the wrong spot.

Deputies said the victim insisted she could park wherever she chose, prompting Collins to retaliate with aggressive threats.

As the victim tried to bypass Collins, she reportedly said, “I will teach you a f------ lesson today,” before brandishing a black handheld Taser and shocking her on her chest and arms, according to authorities.

Deputies said the victim claimed she pushed back against Collins but was repeatedly targeted.

Fearing for her safety, the victim fled to her vehicle while Collins returned to her apartment.

Although the victim showed no visible injuries, deputies said she requested emergency medical assistance.

Authorities said fire rescue personnel arrived, confirming the victim’s vitals were stable, but she reported lingering pain and numbness in her arm, shoulder and neck. Despite her discomfort, the victim declined hospitalization.

Jail records show Collins is facing one count of battery on a person 65 years or older.

As of Wednesday, she remains at the North Broward Bureau, where her bond was set at $5,000.
