Pedestrian dies after being struck by 2 vehicles in Tamarac

Driver of second vehicle fled the scene, according to authorities

TAMARAC, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday morning, involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.

According to BSO spokesman Carey Codd, the crash was reported around 6 a.m. in the area of Northwest 70th Avenue and West McNab Road.

He said deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue personnel responded to the area and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Codd, it appears one vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking the victim to the ground.

Codd said a second vehicle then struck the pedestrian as well.

The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene, but the second driver did not, authorities said.

BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit is now investigating.
