Authorities said the victim and suspect got into an argument that escalated when both drew guns, and the suspect fired, striking his nephew.

The suspect has since been identified as Jaquane Lawayne Ealey.

According to his arrest report, Ealey called 911 to report the shooting.

Police said officers arrived at the scene to find Ealey standing outside a home. A trail of blood could be seen coming from inside the home out onto the front porch.

Ealey was placed into the back of a police car as officers went into the home where they found his gun on a table, the report stated.

According to the report, several spent casings were found in the kitchen area of the home, along with more blood.

Police said after the shooting, the victim ran across Northwest 27th Avenue and called 911 three times.

Officers found him covered in blood with several gunshot wounds to the mid-section of his body and one gunshot wound to his arm.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

According to the arrest report, Ealey provided a statement to detectives, however the statement was redacted from the publicly released report.
