CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The driver of a stolen van was taken into custody after a police chase ended in a crash in Coral Gables.
It happened Tuesday night near the intersection of LeJune Road and University Drive.
According to police, officers were alerted to a van that had been stolen from HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami.
The van was spotted by officers in Coral Gables, who pursued for a short distance until a crash that involved the officer, the van and a third vehicle, police said.
First responders took the suspect to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The officer and civilian involved in the crash were not injured.
