MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade police officer who was arrested earlier this month on a domestic violence/violation of injunction charge was re-arrested Sunday for tampering with her GPS monitor, authorities said.

According to an arrest report, Ajeskca Lucas, 46, was initially arrested by her own department on Sept. 10 for an incident involving her ex-girlfriend.

Police said the former couple had lived together until July 21.

According to the report, the victim obtained a temporary injunction for protection against Lucas on July 23.

A judge extended the injunction through Aug. 9, 2026, after determining that the victim “was in imminent danger of becoming a victim of domestic violence,” the report stated.

According to the report, the victim contacted police on Sept. 9 and reported that Lucas had violated the injunction and that she had video proof of the violation.

Police confirmed that the victim provided them with Ring doorbell footage that was timestamped 1:08 p.m. Sept. 9, 2024, showing Lucas knocking on the front door of the victim’s home.

Lucas was arrested at her own house the following day. Police said she invoked her rights and requested an attorney.

While Lucas was released on house arrest, police said she was re-arrested Sunday for tampering with and removing her GPS ankle monitor.

As of Monday afternoon, she remained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $3,500 bond.

According to MDPD, Lucas has worked for the department for 4 1/2 years and currently works for the Hammocks District. She has been relieved of duty with pay.
