Authorities said the items were sourced from California and the probe was launched after multiple community complaints regarding “potential illegal activities” at the store.

Detectives said Pembroke Park police played a key role in assisting the OALE with the investigation, utilizing their expertise in regulatory violations and criminal laws.

Police said the shop’s owner, who hasn’t been publicly identified as of Friday afternoon, was issued a Notice to Appear for selling food without a permit, a second-degree misdemeanor under Florida law.

Investigators also confirmed that OALE seized all products deemed unsafe for the community, and the owner agreed to destroy the remaining items. The owner has 21 days to obtain a proper Florida license to resume selling THC products under the legal limit.
