Miami police arrested Daniel Eliseo Charles, who lives in the city’s Flagami neighborhood, on Wednesday.

The latest investigation sprung from a tip that Charles was uploading child sexual abuse material to Instagram, police said.

Authorities said Charles shared two videos depicting victims between the ages of 2 and 4. They said he was chatting with another user about the content.

“Dude, that’s one of my favorite videos,” police said Charles told the user, regarding a video of a young boy being sexually abused.

Authorities said they went to Charles’ home in the 4700 block of Northwest Second Terrace pursuant to a search warrant and took Charles into custody.

According to an arrest report, he had been investigated for sharing similar content in 2019 and 2023. Miami-Dade court records do not show previous cases under Charles’ name.

Police wrote that he “explained he has a problem and he has not been able to find the proper assistance/help.”

Charles, who is facing counts related to the possession and promotion of child sexual abuse material, was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $10,000 bond as of Thursday afternoon, online jail records show.
