Police: Man confesses to sexually abusing 12-year-old girl in southern Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 21-year-old man recently confessed to sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in the Everglades Village, an agricultural neighborhood in deep southern Miami-Dade County.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department’s arrest report, the girl, now a teen, talked to a special victims’ unit detective on Sept. 7, in Doral.

The teen said Palemon Hernandez had sexually abused her three times, according to police. Detectives reported recording Hernandez’s confession on Sept. 10.

Police officers arrested Hernandez and corrections released him on a $7,500 bond on Tuesday. He faces one felony charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a 12-year-old victim.

Court records show Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Milton Hirsch was presiding over the case and Hernandez’s arraignment hearing was set for 9 a.m., on Oct. 10.
