HIALEAH, Fla. – Six people, including three children, were taken to area hospitals after a school bus and a dump truck crashed in a Hialeah neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
The crash happened at around 2 p.m. at East First Avenue and 60th Street.
A Hialeah Fire Department spokesperson said three people in the truck were hurt; two were ejected and one had to be pulled out of the vehicle. They were airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
According to HFD, 15 children and one driver were board the bus; all suffered minor injuries and three children were taken to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as a precaution.
Video from Sky 10 shows both vehicles crashed into a residential fence. The Florida Highway Patrol was also at the scene assisting Hialeah police, who were investigating the crash.
The bus bears the markings of F. Couceiro School Bus Inc., a Hialeah-based entity licensed by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
No one answered when Local 10 News called the number on the side of the bus Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities haven’t said whether they’ve determined what led up to the crash and who was at fault.
