OPA-LOCKA, Fla. – A North Miami man is facing serious charges after allegedly kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and sexually assaulting her.
The incident happened on Wednesday, June 26 in the area of Northwest 93rd Terrace and 27th Avenue in Miami-Dade County.

Police said the victim was waiting for an Uber when the suspect, 20-year-old Jonathan Reid, approached in his vehicle, leading her to believe it was her ride.
Police said when the victim got closer, Reid pulled out a gun and told her to get in his car, to which she complied out of fear for her life.
The victim told police Reid drove her to what she thought was the outside of an auto dealership and demanded she perform a sex act, striking her with his gun when she said no, according to the report.
Police said Reid then drove the victim to a residential neighborhood and again demanded sex acts, hitting the victim with the gun when she did not comply.
When the victim was able to get away, she began knocking on random doors asking for help, and Opa-locka police officers eventually arrived to assist her.
Through investigative methods, detectives were able to identify Reid as a suspect, and the victim identified him when shown a photo.
Reid was located by police and faces charges of armed sexual battery, armed kidnapping and armed robbery. He received no bond on the kidnapping and armed robbery charges and was granted a bond of $11,111,111 for the sexual battery charge.
