Video shows model moments after Miami crash cops say she blamed on ‘pink cocaine’

She’s now been charged with DUI manslaughter

MIAMI – In newly-released body camera video, social media model Maecee Marie Lathers is seen writhing in pain after Miami police said she sped through a downtown stop light at nearly 80 mph in her Mercedes-Benz, with her foot on the gas pedal at “100%,” crashing into two vehicles and killing two people before trying to walk away from the scene.

Authorities said Lathers, 24, of Miami Gardens, told officers after the August crash she was high on the party drug “tusi,” also known as “pink cocaine,” and was time-traveling “from the future” with a “crystal ball.”

She also had a suspended license, police said. She’s now facing a host of felony charges, including two counts of reckless vehicular homicide, in the deaths of Abraham Ismael and his friend Jesus Rubio. Prosecutors Tuesday also charged her with DUI manslaughter, court records show.

The crash happened at around 6:45 a.m. on Aug. 10, at North Miami Avenue and Eighth Street.

After Lathers was released from the hospital, a Miami-Dade judge called the upstate New York native “an absolute danger to the community.”

Online records show she’s next scheduled to appear in Miami-Dade court on Monday.
