The proposed Stuart station was located on 2.35 acres in the heart of historic downtown Stuart in Martin County.

The City of Stuart, Martin County and Brightline planned to share the costs for the $60 million station, which would have been located approximately 40 miles north of Brightline West Palm Beach.

The high-speed rail company celebrated the inaugural launch for its Miami to Orlando route in Sept. 2023.

There are currently stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach and Orlando.

In preparation for the service, Brightline put its high-speed trains through rigorous drills in Orange County last spring.

During testing, the trains reached maximum speeds of 130 miles per hour; a fraction faster than they go with passengers onboard.

Tickets for Smart service start at $79 and Premium seating pricing begins at $149. Children’s tickets are $39.
