A 911 caller reported seeing a man, later identified by police as 56-year-old Emmanuel Palmier, who was allegedly involved in the rape, at a bus depot near the 19500 block of Biscayne Boulevard around 5 a.m., according to an arrest report released Tuesday.

The victim told police that while being raped she repeatedly asked the man to “stop and get off of her,” the report stated.

Aventura police said shortly after the incident, Palmier had boarded a bus, which they tracked to 18615 W. Dixie Hwy. The bus was stopped, and Palmier was detained without incident, the report stated.

Palmier, a French national, was brought to the Aventura Police Department, where the victim positively identified him as the individual who raped her, according to investigators.

Police said Palmier was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with investigators.

During the interview, detectives said he made a confession that was redacted in the publicly released report.

Authorities confirmed that due to the statements and evidence obtained in the case, there was probable cause to arrest Palmier.

Jail records show Palmier is facing one count of sexual battery on a physically helpless victim.

As of Tuesday, he is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond has not yet been determined.
