SWAT officers respond to reports of man pointing rifle outside Miami Beach condo complex

MIAMI BEACH , Fla. – SWAT officers responded to reports of a man pointing a rifle outside of a highly populated condominium complex in Miami Beach Friday evening, authorities confirmed.

That man was taken into custody, and police said he may have suffering some kind of crisis.

Miami Beach police said they established a perimeter and shut down traffic along West Avenue between 11th and 13th streets after receiving a call about a man allegedly pointing a rifle outside a condo unit near 1200 West Avenue.

Sky 10 flew over the scene around 5:20 p.m. where police officers and SWAT team members were surveilling the area while attempting to make contact with the culprit, who hasn’t been publicly identified.

It is likely the man will be Baker Acted, police said.

There were no reports of injuries.
