South Florida museum gets refund from state after Visit Florida site dropped LGBTQ page

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A local LGBTQ organization is getting its money back from Visit Florida.

The state’s tourism website sparked controversy after it recently deleted its LGBTQ tourism page.

The Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library, located at 1300 E. Sunrise Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale (WPLG)

Since then, there have been mounting calls for Visit Florida to pay back groups like The Stonewall Museum and Archives in Fort Lauderdale, which pays the state site a membership in hopes of exposure.

A spokesperson for the museum told Local 10 News Visit Florida owes the LGBTQ community an apology and the page should go back up.
