Extra police on campus after threat made against Broward school

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – Extra police officers are on the campus of one Broward County public school Friday after they were alerted about a threat Thursday night, authorities confirmed.

According to Coconut Creek police, the department was notified about the threat against Coconut Creek High School via the FortifyFl and SaferWatch apps.

Police confirmed that the school district has placed more security personnel at the school Friday and the police department will also have extra officers and a police dog at the campus at 1400 NW 44th Ave. throughout the day.

Police said no disturbances on campus have occurred at this time and detectives are investigating the source of the threat.
