According to Sanchez, firefighters extended hose lines and went into the building to attack the flames and search for any victims.

He said the building was deemed all clear and the fire was under control within 15 minutes.

While the fire was contained to the unit of origin, Sanchez said the adjacent unit sustained smoke and water damage.

He said six adults have been displaced but the American Red Cross was not needed as the building owner will be securing housing for the affected residents.

The Miami Fire Investigation Unit will determine the origin and cause of the fire.

No injuries were reported.
